Wolves and Men

Wolves and Men

Sylvain Macchi and Audrey Prucca are a French couple who have been running an animal reserve for wolves for the past 30 years in Southern France. Here, in this park which shelters over a hundred wolves living in semi-freedom, Sylvain and Audrey hope to raise awareness about the animal’s important ecological role, but also correct its previously negative image and unshroud what we hardly know about this apex predator — including its incredible diversity and five different subspecies. Today, however, their goal to build their reputation as a noble creature is being interfered by the reappearance of savage wolves in various regions in France. Shockingly, it only takes a single wolf to terrorize herds and cripple farmers who must deal with the constant predicament of losing their livestock. On the contrary, the wolves which roam in the vast enclosures of Sylvain and Audrey’s park cause no harm and still have a lot to teach us about themselves. Their social structure and behavior in packs are complex, yet fascinating, and they continue to stir our imagination as mysterious and misunderstood creatures. Discover the lives of the people who have dedicated their energy and effort to support these animals and witness the remarkable relationship between wolves and men…
